About Durban – The Place That Started It All
Ah, Durban — where the sun shines brighter, the food’s always spicier, and the beach feels like a second home! We grew up in the north of Durban, surrounded by palm trees, friendly faces, and the mouthwatering smell of curry drifting through the air.
If you know, you know — Durban food hits different! From breyani and crab curry to bunny chow, mince kebab and roti, and samoosas that never lasted long on the plate — food was always about family, laughter, and love.
Weekends were pure magic! We’d head down to Durban’s famous beachfront, spend hours swimming in the warm Indian Ocean, and take a break with the legendary tin fish sandwiches and spicy pineapple sold by the beach vendors — the perfect combo of salt, spice, and sunshine!
And when the sun went down, the fun didn’t stop. We’d stroll the pier with a Milky Lane ice cream — dipped in chocolate or caramel, sprinkled with nuts, or maybe a warm waffle if we were extra hungry. The beachfront came alive with lights, laughter, and that unmistakable Durban vibe — rides, music, and happy faces everywhere.
